Divide Clay into Modular Sized Spheres
Divide clay into 8 planned spheres: 1 large for the pedestal, 1 medium for the belly, 1 smaller for the head, 2 small rolls for legs, 2 for arms, and 1 elongated cone for the curved trunk.
Seat the Body and Fold Crossing Legs
Flatten the pedestal base. Seat the spherical belly on top. Roll two smooth clay ropes, fold them across the front in a cross-legged meditative posture, and smooth seams with wet fingers.
Mount Head and Form Curved Trunk
Press the head sphere onto the shoulders. Attach the elongated clay trunk cone, gently curving the lower tip to the left in the auspicious Vamamukhi posture.
Shape Fan-Like Ears and Modak Sweet
Flatten two small clay discs into fan-like ears and join firmly behind the temples. Model one right hand in the Abhaya mudra blessing, and nestle a miniature clay modak sweet in the left hand.
Adorn with Turmeric Tilak and Durva
Once air-dried, apply a bright turmeric and kumkum trishul tilak on the forehead. Offer fresh green durva grass and place in a household pot for eco-friendly home visarjan.
