What You Need Before Starting
Folding Instructions (5 Steps)
Follow each step in order. Press your folds firmly against the table using your thumbnail or a ruler for maximum performance.
First Corner Fold to Center (Blintz Base)
Fold your square paper in half diagonally both ways and unfold to mark the exact center. Fold all 4 corners into the center point to form a smaller square.
Flip and Fold Corners to Center Again
Turn the paper over to the smooth back side. Once again, fold all 4 corners precisely into the central intersection point.
Crease in Half Horizontally & Vertically
Fold the square in half into a rectangle, crease hard, unfold, and fold in half the other way. This loosens the four corner hinge pockets.
Pop Open the Four Finger Pockets
Slip your thumb and index fingers underneath the four square pockets on the back. Push the outer corners toward the center until four 3D pyramid cones pop outward.
Draw Eyes, Teeth & Dragon Scales
Use markers to draw fierce dragon eyes on the top cone flaps, jagged white teeth inside the mouth cavity, and glue in a red paper tongue.
Opposable Jaw Biomechanics & Dual-Chamber Puppetry
The four corner pocket pyramids act as twin upper and lower finger sleeves. By moving your thumb opposing your index and middle fingers, the central diamond hinge flexes open and closed, mimicking real animal jaw biomechanics with satisfying acoustic snapping sounds.
